Peter Finch

I have been in the financial services industry since 1984. The first 15 years were a series of positions in the banking industry. I held various positions during my time in the Detroit area, the Grand Rapids area, and most recently in the Traverse City area. Those positions were wonderful experiences and taught me so much about business and valuing client relationships. So much so, that in 2000, I decided to become a financial advisor and began building a business based on working hard for my clients and becoming their trusted advisor. Since 2000, I have been working with and for my clients, building enduring financial strategies to help meet their financial life’s objectives.

I live in Glen Arbor, Michigan; my office is in Suttons Bay, Michigan; and I am proud to work with clients locally as well as in wonderful places like Colorado, Texas, California, Nebraska, and Florida, among others.

My educational background includes a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Michigan-Dearborn, an MBA from Western Michigan University, and a graduate degree in banking from the University of Wisconsin in conjunction with the Central States Bankers Association.

I hold FINRA Series 6, 7, and 65 registrations through Commonwealth Financial Network® and fixed and variable life insurance licenses.

Administrative Assistant

As the Administrative Assistant, I answer the phones, respond to emails, and handle any administrative needs. I’m always happy to assist and answer any questions clients might have.

My past experience includes being a member of Business Professionals of America for four years. I placed 1st in the state and 11th in the nation for the Individual Microsoft competition. Additionally, I placed 2nd in the state and 8th in the nation for the Administrative Support Team. I have been in the hospitality industry for two years working at a local restaurant, Trish’s Dishes in Leland, MI. I love interacting with customers and clients at both jobs. I have been a math tutor for two years as well, both at the high school and college levels.

I was raised on a cherry farm with my brother and many sisters. We grew up working in the orchards, and still help out wherever we are needed. Working together has made us close; we often have family cookouts and sit around a bonfire after working throughout the day. When I’m not working, I enjoy reading, swimming, and hiking around the many trails we have in Leelanau County.

I earned my Associate’s Degree in the Arts and Sciences at Northwestern Michigan College, and I plan on pursuing a career as a financial advisor.
